This product is a must have for anyone wanting to change their own oil in their 2007 Mazda 5. I found out the hard way that adjustable oil filter wrenches don't work on my car. Local stores didn't carry the proper size (I didn't try my local Mazda dealer as I have reason to believe they'd want WAY to much money). This filter wrench fits perfectly. It is black in color, not the silver in the picture.

This tool is a must for any Ford or Mazda (with a 2.3L motor with a cartridge type oil filter) owner who likes the satisfaction of changing their own oil and filter. . Very easy to use. Fits perfectly on my 2007 Mazda 3.

This was the right tool to open the plastic oil filter housing on my wife's 2005 Mazda 6 2.3L Ford Europe engine. This is a heavyweight tool, no cheapie. With a torquewrench, I can correctly torque my filter down with this socket.
I hope never to buy a car with a canister style style filter again. A spin on filter is so much easier, quicker, and neater!

Part works like a charm to remove the oil filter on a 2008 Mazda 6 4cyl car. I've tried other plastic tools from various retailers and they have been either too small, too big or slip off...this one fits the perfect.
Like the other reviews say... you still have to use a 6mm Allen key to remove the plug from the plastic housing and let the oil drain out before using this tool to remove the plastic housing and get to the internal oil filter (cartridge style). Great product, highly recommended!!!

Like the title says, this is the filter wrench/cap you need if you have a canister type filter on a Mazda5.
