Oil Filter Socket October 3, 2008 This product worked great and the price was good too! I was surprised that I could not get this item from the local auto parts stores or from the local Ford dealers either. One local product was made out of plastic and .5mm larger. I tried it hoping for the best but, it didn't work at all. This oil filter socket is well made (metal) and will last forever.
Unnecessary tool September 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this after reading that my Mazda 3 2.3l required a special oil canister removal tool. It turns out one of my current filter removers fits perfectly. Although Mazda apparently tries to convince us that their oil canister is a unique size, check your current filter removal tools first as you probably already have one that fits.
Dead on fit September 9, 2008 When all the local auto retailers sell you plastic mold sockets that can be cracked (I've broken two) this little guy stands out in two ways - it's a dead on fit and because it's made of metal, it doesn't absorb oil at all. Unlike the plastic sockets that become somewhat slick after many uses, a quick soap and wash bring this little guy's original grip right back. Additionally, it doesn't wear nearly as easily. Good investment.
OTC 6903 Oil Filter Socket June 4, 2008 Save your cash. If you own a large pair of channel lock pliers, it will do the job just as well on the Mazda 6, 2.3L engine. There is plenty of room so don't worry.
Great tool May 6, 2008 Don't change your Mazda5 oil filter without one of these. It fits the filter housing perfectly.
